Pre-Pool Warm-ups

 

Raise Temperature Warm Up Exercises

No matter what the age and ability of your swimmer, their warm up pre-pool routine should start with two or three simple exercises to raise the temperature of their body.

Mobilise Warm Up Exercises

After the initial exercises to raise the body’s temperature, swimmers should continue their warm up with the some mobility movements.

Activate Warm Up Exercises

After raising the body’s temperature and performing mobility exercises, swimmers should continue their warm up with three or four activate exercises.

Prime Warm Up Exercises

After raising the body’s temperature, performing mobility and activate exercises, swimmers should finish their warm up with two prime exercises.

Ensure your swimmers complete three to five reps of their exercises.

If your swimmers can perform all of the exercises in prime level 1 with good technique and control, they should try prime level 2 next time.
